As a member of the executive team, this position is focused on developing and delivering a professional training program leading agency staff to learn, implement, and practice caregiving duties and responsibilities for individuals in the intellectual and developmentally disabled community.

In selecting a candidate for this position, we are looking for an individual who can meet most, if not all, of the following requirements:

• Must be willing to work at times outside the office for site visits or remedial instruction

• Must maintain up-to-date reports

• Must have had I/DD exposure if not experience
   

NWMH views the Agency Trainer as key to the health of the agency. He, she or they must, through their training, enhance the quality of services provided by the staff to clients who come under their care.

Qualifications include an associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college in a field related to human services or one year experience in a residential setting supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental rules and regulations, safety rules and policy and procedure manuals; ability to read and interpret documents such as governmental rules and regulations, safety rules and manuals and ability to write, add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measurement; the ability to solve practical problems.

Certifications, licenses and registration requirements include having a valid Oregon Driver's License at the time of on-boarding. They must obtain and keep current CPR, First Aid and OIS instructor's certification.

Criminal history:
Must maintain an acceptable criminal history check by the State Mental Health Division and a satisfactory driving record as acceptable by NWMHMS, Inc.'s automobile insurance carrier.

Confidentiality of all staff and client consumer records including but not limited to medical, health and mental records is required.
